Procedures for Entering Mali


• Police procedures:
A valid ID card or passport is enough for nationals of CEDEAO member countries and the following countries: Algeria, Cameroon, Tunisia, Andorra, Principality of Monaco, Chad, Morocco, Mauritania.

• Customs procedures: Automobiles may be temporarily imported tax- and duty-free sous couvert d'un tricycle ou d'un carnet de passage en Douane issued by the Automobile Club of the country in which a vehicle is registered or by an authorized institution in that country.
Custom show tolerance toward items, cigarettes, and tobacco in reasonable quantities. The following used items are also admitted duty-free: clothing and personal effects, still and video cameras, binoculars, portable typewriters, sports and camping kits, personal jewellery.

• Clothing:

- Bring loose-fitting, light, easy-to-wash clothing;
- Pairs of cotton socks, cotton underwear, 1 warm pullover;
- 2 undershirts, 1 wool shirt, several cloth shirts;
- Long cotton pants, 2 shorts, 1 cloth hat, 1 swim suit for the swimming pool;
- 1 pair of shoes, Clark-type or running shoes;
- Towel;
- 1 sunscreen, 1 moisturizing lotion, one pair of sunglasses, mosquito repellent;
- Pack gear in duffle bags that open horizontally;
- Bring a few medications (aspirin, amodiaquine, disinfectant, bandages, band-aids).



Photo - Video - Film :

- Photography is allowed except in military areas, airports, and at the Presidential Palace. As well, swimmers at the water’s edge may not be photographed.
- Do not photograph or film everyday activities without the consent of the persons involved.


Climate:

- The best tourism seasons or periods are November to March (cool season) and July to October (humid season).
