Mamelon, a hill located in the downtown area. A sacred place where,
in the time of the kings, a “guardian spirit” lived.

The tomb of Tiéba Traoré, who became king in 1866
and built the “Tata.” He signed an alliance with France
and defied the armies of Emperor Wassoulou.

in the Djenné architectural style. He was commander-in-chief
of the armies of Tiéba and then Babemba.

worship, with the East reserved for indigenous religions, the West
for Christians, and the South for Muslims.

•
Farako Falls, 25 km from Sikasso, where the water flows over a series
of rock ledges.
